Michelle Anntoinette Collier

Michelle Antoinette Collier was born on September 21, 1964 to Paul Ford and Lenore Hill in Omaha Nebraska. She was the youngest of three children; sister, Anita and brother Paul. Michelle departed this life at the age of 57, on January 8, 2022.
Michelle attended Omaha Public Schools. Later in life, she committed to completing her education and earned her High School Diploma. She attended Metropolitan Community College and graduated in 2011 with Honors and with two Associate Degrees in American Sign Language (ASL) and Professional Studies. Because of her excellence and dedication, she was also inducted as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. In pursuit of her Bachelor's Degree, she furthered her education at Bellevue University and Creighton University where she was working towards a degree in Organizational Communication and Theology.

Michelle met the love of her life and soulmate Major Collier and it was truly love at first sight. They married on January 13, 1996. Together, they lived a happy life in which they enjoyed music, good food, laughter, and quality time with family and close friends. Less than one week of her passing they would have celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary. They were blessed with children Vieshia, Eric, Verla, Lois and Devon and 13 grandchildren. Major and Michelle ensured their children and grandchildren were surrounded by love and respect in their home. Michelle was very close to her children, grandchildren and family and they all had a strong bond.

Michelle was a very spiritual woman and over she enjoyed fellowshipping with many churches throughout her community along her spiritual journey. Doing so strengthened her relationship with our Heavenly Father over time. A significant turning point in her path of faith happened in 2001 where she attended a Revelation Seminar and joined Sharon Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she became a devout keeper of the Sabbath Day. Both she and her husband diligently studied the Bible together in which they honored Father Yahuah and His Son, Yashuah together.


Michelle was a sweet and wise woman who was cherished by many. She impacted the lives of many people in her short time on this Earth. Michelle had a giving heart and though she didn't have much, she cheerfully did whatever she could to help others. She volunteered her time teaching American Sign Language (ASL) and Horticulture to youth. Michelle even once gave all her furniture to a family who didn't have any. She also loved to cook and would often feed the community.
Michelle loved to play big 15 Dominoes and games on her phone - her favorites being slot machine games and Candy Crush. She was talented at making beaded Jewelry and singing. She was honored to have been chosen to sing the National Anthem for the College World Series, Omaha Beef and Omaha Royals. Michelle also had a green thumb and was gifted in the area of Horticulture.

Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, Paul W. L. Ford, Jr and Lenore Hill; sister, Anita Ford; sister-in-law, Linda Ford; grandparents, Leonard and Lucille Hawkins (maternal) and Paul W.L. Ford, Sr and Mercede Ford (paternal).
Michelle Antoinette Collier leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted husband, Major Collier; children, Vieshia Washington, Eric Ford, Verla Collier, Lois James and Devon Neelon; brother, Paul W.L. Ford; 13 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
