LTCOL- Pastor Morton George Cain went to be with Jesus on June 30th, 2022.
Mort was born in Omaha Nebraska on October 31, 1936.
He attended Tech High School and went on to graduate from Wheaton College in 1958 and earned a Masters degree in 1975.
He married the love of his life, Joyce Paulson Cain in December 1958.
After graduating from Wheaton, Mort served in the US Army for 22 years. Mort, Joyce and family moved 23 times 22 years. He lived a full and exciting life living across the world, also spending a year in Vietnam in 1968 earning multiple medals and accolades.
After his time with the military, he was led to Trinity Church, functioning in the role of Executive Pastor for 16 years along with his friend Sr. Pastor Elmer Murdoch.
After his time with Trinity Church he helped plant a new church in Omaha with Pastor Mike Harris while also focusing a lot of his attention on working with an organization called "Christ for the City International" working with at risk children in 17 countries in South and Central America for 26 years.
Mort is proceeded in death by daughter Caryn, parents George & Sarah Cain, Rose & Paul Paulson and his sister Carol Martin.
Mort is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Joyce Cain and 4 children and their spouses, Jeff & Stephanie Cain, Paige & Shep Woodard, Bret & Julie Cain, Matt & Rebecca Cain. Also 25 Grandchildren and 25 Great Grand Children.
We will celebrate the life of Pastor Mort Cain at Lifegate Church on Thursday, July 21st at 10:30 am with a luncheon to follow in the foyer.
