Norma Mitchell

August 17, 1955 — September 7, 2024

Norma Jean (Fuller) Mitchell, lovingly known to her family as "The Great One," was born on August 17, 1955 to George Elliott and Alice Lucille Fuller in Omaha, Nebraska. Norma graduated from North High School and pursued her passion for helping others by earning her nursing degree. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel across the globe, checking off all the items on her bucket list. Norma's love for cruising was well-known, and she often found joy in sitting on her balcony, sipping her coffee, and relishing the gentle breeze. Her vibrant and dynamic personality touched the lives of many!

Norma's passion for sports extended far beyond the game of football. Whether she was cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs or engrossed in other sporting events, Norma's love for sports was evident to all who knew her. Her enthusiasm and unwavering support for various athletic pursuits brought joy to those around her and created lasting memories with friends and family.

Norma Jean Mitchell, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend joined her Heavenly Father on September 7, 2024, at the age of 69.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Melita Crawford; son, George (Victoria) Fuller; special nephew, Orlando Fuller; granddaughters, Shay'Ona Fuller, Brittiany Fuller and John'Netta Fuller; grandsons, Johnny (Darnese) Fuller and Malachi Fuller; great-grandchildren, Bri'Ana Fuller, Eri'Ana & Eric Frazier, John'Nesha Fuller and Har'Mony Fuller; great-great-grandson, Lorenzo; sisters, Rosalind, Alice, Margie, and Kamala Fuller and son in law, Johnny Crawford Jr. She is also survived by a host of other relatives who will miss her dearly.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Mitchell; daughter, Shanithia Hawthorne; special niece, Janice Fuller; grandson, D'Kari Hill, sisters, George Ann, Wilma, and Lawana Fuller; and brothers, John E. and Wyman Fuller.

Norma's warmth, love, and kindness touched the lives of many, and her presence will be deeply missed. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
