Philip George Pilakowski aged 81, passed away on April 12, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father & friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Philip was born May 22, 1942 in North Platte, NE where he spent his childhood. After graduating from St. Patrick High School he enlisted in the Army and soon found himself in Vietnam where he worked on maintaining communications for the military.
When his time in the Army was over, he went back to North Platte and got a job at the Union Pacific Railroad. He bought a Cadillac and a camper and was able to travel the country with his job before finally settling in Omaha, NE. It was there he met his lovely wife of 47 years, Tricia. Shortly after marriage, they settled in North Platte, NE where they lived for 28 years and raised three daughters. He retired after 41 years of working for the Union Pacific Railroad and soon moved with his wife back to Omaha to fully enjoy retired life.
In his free time he enjoyed bird watching, and playing with his dogs. He spent many summers at his favorite lake camping with his wife and taking trips with his camping group. He was an active member of the Omaha Tangier Shrine for many years and loved driving the kids up to the Shriners hospitals in Minneapolis. Philp shared a deep devotion to his faith at Three Timbers Church where he enjoyed the fellowship and friends. Philip is survived by his loving wife Tricia, his three daughters, Melissa Casassa (Seth Schroder), Stacey Parker (Jeremiah), and Janelle Wolfe (Bob). eight grandchildren, and seven siblings. Memorials can be made to the Omaha Tangier Shrine Transportation Fund.
