Randy Lyle Helle

Randy Lyle Helle, age 65, passed away in his home Tuesday, September 15, 2020.

Randy was born February 6, 1955 to the late Lawrence James Helle and Sherry M. Allmon. He served in the United States Navy. He was a master of all things wood including but not limited to species identification, saw milling, cabinetry and antique restoration. His favorite furniture style was Mission. He was an accomplished machinist. Randy prided himself on being an inventor. His many passions included the love of his cats and Astrology. He loved all things old. His favorite truck was a Chevy C10 and his favorite car was a Chevy El Camino. His favorite movies were foreign martial arts movies. Randy was a very intelligent, passionate and loving man. His family was everything to him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence James Helle and Sherry M. Allmon; life partner, Phyllis Scutro; brother, John Helle.


Randy is survived by his life partner, Amber Hagge; siblings, Debra Nagunst (Ricky), Wendy Estes (Dwight), Terry Tara Vannozzi (Pat); multiple nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Garner Township Cemetery, 1372 Jennings Ave., Council Bluffs, IA 51503. The service will be officiated by Donald Volentine. Military honors will be performed.
