Robert Hardeman

July 6, 1952 — October 23, 2024

Robert ‘Scottie’ Hardeman 72, dedicated father, grandfather, and friend passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024. He was surrounded by his family, during his final moments.

Robert was born to Scott Miller and Annie Mae Hardeman on July 6, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska. The oldest of six children, he held the responsibility of helping to look after his younger siblings while getting into mischief along the way, as kids often do. As a young boy Robert was a member of the neighborhood Boys and Girls Club where he learned how to play the drums and football.

Robert graduated from Omaha Technical High School in 1971 and was a part of the Trojan football team. It was here that he met his wife and the mother of his children. Shortly after graduation, Robert and his family relocated to Long Beach, California where they resided for several years before his retirement.

During his free time, he enjoyed driving around in his 1980’s Buick Electra (deuce and a quarter) with the license plate that affectionately read Bo Legs. He also enjoyed hosting a good house party, collecting DVD movies and spending time with family and friends. He will be truly missed, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

Preceded in death by parents Scott Miller and Annie Mae Hardeman; brothers Elija Yarbrough and Darrell Yarbrough; and sister Cheryl Yarbrough Chastang.

Survived by his children Teri Yvette Newsome, Tiffany Rayne (Trenton) Hall, Robert Terrell Hardeman and Terence Hardeman; grandchildren Ashley Michelle (Angelow) Butler, Skyler Simone Newsome, Brandi Nicole Newsome, Keyleigh Ajanae’ Newsome, Jessica Savannah McGhee, Michaela Yvette Newsome, Trenton Lydell Hall, Tierra Lynne Hall, Tourron Londell Hall; great grandchildren Aireanna Butler, Aubrebae’ Butler, Angelow Butler, Jaiden Morgan, Khy’rie Nevels, Kendrix Pickney, Kalaiah Pickney; sisters Vanessa Wead, Maxine Hardeman, Gwen Tayler and Carolyn Jacobs.
