Robert Oliver Bishop

Robert Oliver Bishop passed away peacefully while on Hospice due to having Stage 4 lung cancer on August 2nd, 2021 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Robert was born on March 26, 1944 in Rolfe, Iowa to Elmer and Jennie Bishop (Triggs). Robert was the youngest of 8 children; Elvina, Lester, Lawrence, Leo, Pearl, Shirley, Herb, and then Robert. Robert moved to Spencer, Iowa which is where he graduated High School from. Robert served in Vietnam from 1967-1969 receiving multiple honors; Purple Heart, National Defense, Rifle Man, Vietnam Service, Combat Infinity, and Good Conduct. Robert enjoyed fishing with his family, camping, traveling, taking drives, and balloon making. Robert had a 38 year career in the grocery business being a Produce Manager with Safeway and HyVee, he retired in 2006.

Robert loved his children Todd (Jane) of Adel, IA, Douglas (Shelley Colvin) of Omaha, NE, Melinda of Flagstaff, AZ, and Geoffrey (Missy) of Flagstaff, AZ. Robert is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Robert was loved by many and always enjoyed visiting with people and good conversation.
