Roger Lee Pinneke

June 15, 1958 — December 6, 2023

Roger Lee Pinneke was born on Father’s Day, June 15, 1958 to his mother, Betty Irene Pinneke and Father, Melvin Little.  Born in Charles City, Iowa, he was raised in Mason City, Iowa by his mother with the help of his siblings.  Roger had the “gift of gab” and big dreams.  He loved antiques.

Roger served his country in the United States Army.  He was a kind, caring and thoughtful man.  He spent a good deal of time trying to figure out where he belonged and how he fit in.  Being of mixed race was not easy in the 1960’s and 70’s.  His father was not around to show and teach him the things a  father should.  Having no uncles or grandfathers meant he had few adult, male influences in his early years.

Roger is survived by son Rajee and twins Nikki and Terrance; three grandsons; brother Robin Robinson; sisters Verna Michl, Martha Walgren, Lillie Keith, Betty Hanes; sister-in-law Minerva Pinneke and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Greeting Roger in heaven are his mother Betty Pinneke, father Melvin Little, grandparents Elmer and Martha Smith, brother Elmer Pinneke, brother-in-law Stuart and niece Serenity.
