Life Story Ronald M. Grixby, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2023. He was born on November 25, 1962, in Omaha, NE, to the late Pauline Washington and George Grixby, Sr. Ron began a courtship in high school, marrying his first love on July 6, 1985, sharing an everlasting love of 45 years with his soulmate, Evelyn Grixby, and together they were blessed with three sons: DeAntae, Cortney, and the late Ronnell Grixby.

Growing up in Omaha, Ron was a standout athlete in track, football, and basketball. He attended Saratoga Elementary School, George Norris Middle School, North and Bryan High Schools before graduating from Dominican High School in 1981. He later pursued his passion for mechanics and enrolled at Milford Community College, where he studied Diesel Mechanics.

Throughout his career, Ron held various positions, including employment at Tip Top, Midwest Bottling Company, and Wells Fargo as a security guard. He dedicated 30 years of his professional life to FDR (First Data Resources) in pins as a machine operator, until his health challenges led to his retirement in August 2018.

In his free time, Ron enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He played darts both for leisure and in a city league, coed baseball, and he loved fishing and listening to music, particularly Groove, Old School R&B, and Motown. Ron had a penchant for electronics and cooking gadgets. He found solace in cooking and grilling. His culinary skills were shared with family and close friends, and he cherished the annual tradition of cooking for the vacation bible school picnics. Ron was an unwavering Husker Fan!

Ron, being the youngest of nine siblings, valued the bond he had with his brothers and sisters. He also held dear friendships that felt like family with Elston Dorsey, the late Charlie Peoples, John Carlisle, Clifford Jackson, Darin and Dwayne Rencher, and Jeff Chapman.

Family was paramount to Ron, and he held a deep love for his wife Evelyn, who was his pride and joy. As a devoted husband, father, Pawpaw and Pappa, Ron found immense joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren through their school activities, little league, high school and college careers.

One of his proudest moments in May, was that God granted him the strength to travel with his family to celebrate the graduation of his oldest grandson, TaeVyn Grixby from Mankato State College in Minnesota.

Ron's legacy will live on through his grandchildren TaeVyn Grixby, Yasir Grixby, Zy'Air Branch-Grixby, Cayden Branch- Grixby, Nyla Grixby, Yohan Grixby, and Kai Grixby, Mikel Nared and Damari Branch.

Ron will forever be remembered for his humble and reserved spirit, unwavering support, commitment and love he shared with his family, dedication to his work, his passion for cooking, and being a service to others. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Pauline Grixby, his son Ronnell Grixby, and his siblings George Grixby, Jr., William Grixby, Sr., Gloria Creighton, Lillian Johnson, and Judy McCullough.

Ron leaves his cherished memories with his loving wife Evelyn Grixby, sons DeAntae Grixby (Shannon) of Spring, TX, Cortney Grixby (Shakilah) of Omaha, NE., Mother-in-law Bertha Davis, brothers-in-law James and Randy Davis, Omaha, NE., sisters Patricia Lenton and Arlene Ellis and brother Michael Grixby, Omaha, NE., grandchildren, nieces, nephews, God children MeKhi Payne and Layla Burse, and a host of family and friends.
