Shanta' Rene Wood was born in Omaha, Nebraska on March 2, 1989. She was
raised by her single mother Jaqueline "Jackie" Wood. Her family and friends
had many nicknames for her: Ta, Tater Bug, Ta Ta, Hollerin' Jack, Hollerin'
MeMe, Sticks, and Potato. She attended Omaha North High School.
At the age of 16, Shanta' became a mother to her one and only daughter Ceairra.
Becoming a mother she became overly excited. Later on she gave birth to her
boys TreVonte, Treshawn , and DeAnthony. Her proudest accomplishment was
becoming a mother to her 4 beautiful children.
Shanta' worked as a server for many years, her last serving position was at
Chili's. Shanta' was always known as the life of the party, she loved to sing
karaoke. She spent many hours in the mirror singing and dancing or doing her
hair. She loved being around friends and family.
Shanta' was raised with her 2 sisters, oldest Shatia(The Annoying One), and
youngest Lanesha(Favorite).In February of 2023, she relocated to Austin
Texas with her "Favorite" little sister Lanesha. In March after celebrating her
34th Birthday, she became chronically ill and ultimately lost her battle to
chronic Liver disease.
She's preceded in death by her mother; Jaqueline Wood, great grandmother;
Essie Finley, grandfather; Cleveland Monroe, cousin; Julius "Boo" Harris, great
uncle Nathanial Finley, great Aunts Helen McBride, Maggie Finley, Nancy Jo
Finley.
She leaves to cherish her memory and continue her Legacy Children: Ceairra
