Sharon Jones

April 22, 1959 — March 10, 2025

On the beautiful spring day of April 22, 1959, a blessing was born to Joseph and Carol Jones. They resided in Tyler, Tx where they welcomed three additional blessings into their home. The Jones family relocated to Omaha, Ne in 1965. Sharon gained her education at Sacred Heart and Dominican High School. She later went on to pursue her passion for art by achieving a degree in Fine Arts at OOIC. Sharon did not only teach her children to be smart and educated. She also taught them how to be dedicated hard workers. Sharon was always bossy so it fit that a majority of her work life was spent in food service management roles. Before Sharon took her seat beside God, she was a manager at Casey’s gas station in Omaha, NE. In 1975, God blessed her with the honor of being a mother to a beautiful baby girl. She then welcomed four more beautiful blessings. Three more amazing daughters and one of the best son’s a mother could ask for. Being a mother was Sharon’s pride and joy. She would always say “As long as my kids and grandkids are straight. I’m straight!!” Sharon didn’t play about her kids but she didn’t play with them either. She held them accountable and let them know when they were wrong. Even though she would slide in her famous comment “I’m minding my own business.” Sharon had an eye for gardening. She loved being out there in the dirt growing her own foods. She enjoyed going to the farmers market and the vegetable stands. She had an indescribable love for art and old incense. She enjoyed her coffee!!! As her family you knew not to talk to her before she has her second pot!! Sharon was a small woman but a very strong and stubborn one! She always had to have the last word. Sharon was an amazing cook. Everything that came out her kitchen was made with pure love. Anytime she sold dinners, she always sold out!! She loved spoiling her grandchildren with good hearty home cooked meals made straight from her heart. Sharon left this gift of cooking with love to all five of her children. She enjoyed spending time with her family laughing and dancing, simply enjoying life. Where there was Sharon, there was food, family, and fun!!

Sharon is preceded in heaven by her grandparents and her niece Caressa. She is survived by parents Joseph and Carol Jones, her sister Karen Jones and brothers Chris Jones and Anthony Jones all of Omaha, NE. She leaves to cherish her memories with her five blessed and beloved children Latisha Jones, Jennifer Jones, Steven Jones, Raven Harris, and Stephanie Harris. She leaves to carry on her beautiful legacy to her nine blossoming grandchildren (LaTisha) Charles, Tylisha, (Jennifer) JaNisa, JaLisa, DeLano, (Raven) Jhordyn, Jazmine, Janiye, and Jarell. She leaves to carry on her bossy and warrior ways to her great grandson KaMoni Jones (DeLano). Sharon leaves to carry on her light to a host of aunts, uncles, family, and special friends.
