Shirley L. Marchese Kowal

Shirley Lee (Marcoe, Marchese) Kowal (1935-2024), passed away in the early morning of November 23rd, 2024, at the home of her daughter in Omaha, Nebraska. She was a devoted mother to her children. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on February 13th, 1935 to Evelyn Agerson and resided there until 1987 when she moved to Fresno, California with her second husband Thaddeus Victor Kowal, where she happily remained until 2023. For the last several years, she longed to return “home” to Omaha, to be near her family. That eventually became a reality in November 2023, when she moved into her “old” house that now belongs to her daughter.

 Known for her unwavering devotion to her children and her love of Bingo, Shirley will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Shirley’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. Shirley was preceded in death by her second husband Thaddeus (Ted) Victor Kowal and her children, Linda Lee Marchese, John Anthony Marchese and Deborah Kay Marchese. She is survived by her children, Quila (Al) Lovejoy, Susan Marchese, Joseph Marchese, and Drs.Tena (James) Runcorn, son in law Frank Lovejoy, by her grandchildren, Nino Puentes, Antonia (Chris) Boyer, Steven Miller, Timothy Miller, Elijah (Tifanie) Runcorn, Jonah Runcorn, Zechariah Runcorn, Micah Runcorn, Judah Runcorn, Josiah Runcorn, Ezrah Runcorn, and several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and step-children from her marriage to Ted. A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family at a later date.
