Suzanne M Mertlik

Suzanne Mertlik passed away April 23, 2023 at Hillcrest Shadow Lake in Papillion, Nebraska at the age of 88 years. She was born March 17, 1935 to Philip and Margaret (Casey) Coady in Staten Island, NY. Suzanne lived in Staten Island until marrying and moving to Omaha, Nebraska in 1954. Suzanne enjoyed her flower garden and her Catholic faith. Her pride and joy was her Irish heritage. Being born on St Patrick's Day always demanded a double celebration each year. In 1937, she went to Ireland with her mother, brother Phil, and sister Ellen to visit their Casey family.

Suzanne is preceded in death by her father, Philip Coady, Sr.; mother, Margaret Coady; sisters Ellen Coady, Margaret Coady Robinson; and brother Thomas Coady.

Suzanne is survived by her brother Philip Coady (BettyAnne) of Seattle, Washington; daughters Machelle Ann Williams (Kevin) of Bennington, Nebraska, Renee Suzanne Lester of Omaha, Nebraska, Denise Marie Guiffredo (Richie) of Pennsylvania, Peggy Helene Bosiljevac (Dan) of Omaha, Nebraska; and her only son JP(Shelly) Mertlik of Blair, Nebraska.

In addition, she is survived by her sisters-in-law Sally Mertlik Norman (Dave) of Laguna Hills, California and Peggy Coady of Florida.

Her surviving grandchildren include Nathan Aric Jones, Kalle Nicole Jones Georgiev, Daniel Patrick Jones, Adam Guiffredo, Taylor Guiffredo Jensen, Casey Guiffredo Fairchild, Colin James Mertlik, Ian Nicholas Mertlik, Addie Suzanne Mertlik, and Alec James Robinson; great grandchildren Ayden Robinson, Josephine Robinson, Rilee Robinson, Clara Georgiev, Martin Georgiev and Simon Jones.



VISITATION Thursday, April 27, from 5-7pm with VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm at Good Shepherd L Street Chapel. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Friday, April 28, at 10am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Interment at Bohemian Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the church.
