Theodore Cordel Hunt

November 19, 1976 — August 16, 2022

Theodore Cordel Hunt, age 46, of Omaha passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 in Prestige Care Center of Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Cordel was born on November 19, 1975 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Theodore Mothershed and Mary Carmona. He attended school in Council Bluffs and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1994 and continued his education at Iowa Western Community College.

Cordel met Kim Heyer in April 2000. The couple lived in Ralston, Nebraska where they brought home their son, Jaydis Hunt. Cordel spent much of his spare time on the basketball court. He also considered himself a collector of designer shoes and clothing.

In 2011, Cordel was diagnosed with Huntington's disease. This altered his life drastically. Before long, Cordel was no longer able to work, play basketball, or any of the other things he loved. He continued to enjoy, as best as possible, his day to day life living with Kim and Jaydis in Ralston until his care became too burdensome.

Cordel went to live in Tecumseh, Nebraska in 2019 at Belle Terrace. While here, he continued to stay in touch with family and friends through regular text messages to ensure everyone was well, as that was Cordel's true nature.

In 2021, Belle Terrace closed and Cordel was transferred to Prestige Care Center in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. During his time at Prestige, he was joined by his brother, Creighton, as a roommate.

He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Creighton Hunt and sister, Sheena Brown.

Survivors include his son, Jaydis Hunt of Ralston; significant other, Kim Heyer and daughter, Nicole Jennings; father; grandmother, Georgia Mothershed; brothers, Skylar Hunt and David Brown; sister, Patricia (Tobi) Brown; as well as several Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 20th, 2022 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home in Ralston.

Memorials contributions may be made in Cordel's name for future designation c/o his son, Jaydis Hunt, to Good Shepherd Funeral Home.
