Tricia Sue Claussen, 54, was born on December 21 in Omaha, Nebraska. She passed unexpectedly on June 15, 2024. She was the daughter of Arthur Fredrick Claussen and Sandra Kay Claussen (Franks).
She was the only girl but you would never know as she did as much as the boys would do. Tricia would be found out in the driveway working on cars with her brother, Alan. She loved her first car, which was a 1969 Camaro and she would work on it herself. They were often found on Dodge Street cruising or hanging out at Commercial Federal. The Claussen house seemed to be the hangout house or starting point for the night of fun. Tricia and the ladies she ran around with made shirts to show that were proud to live on 59th Street.
As Tricia grew up, she would help her mom, Sam, with her daycare kids. She would be crafty and make sure the kids felt special even though she was in high school. While in her senior year of high school, her life changed. On October 23, 1987, her daughter, Kaci was born. This changed her life and her love of cars. She got her first Lincoln Mark VII. Tricia was still able to graduate from Benson High School, but the days of cruising were over.
Tricia raised Kaci in her family home with the help of parents and close friends. Kaci remembers Tricia telling her to not touch the windows of the Mark VII. She made sure Kaci had everything she needed and passed on her love of crafting to her. Tricia would often be found with a camera taking pictures or a camcorder recording Kaci. Tricia worked at Sears Portrait Studio, Target, Tender Heart Treasures, and Rose Hill Elementary just to name a few. Tricia made sure all of Kaci’s birthday parties were well decorated and made everyone feel special.
Tricia also found a love for animals. She would rescue stray cats. She would foster them and some would end up not being able to leave as she would become attached. She also loved her dogs. Her animals were spoiled and were treated like they were all of her own kids. They never went without and she made sure they got what they needed. She would often put their needs before hers. The only other thing she was proud of was her granddaughters. She was there when Kailani was born and loved to spoil Grace and Kailani both!
Tricia was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra. She is survived by father, Arthur Claussen, daughter, Kaci (Jeremy) Meyers, grand daughters, Grace and Kailani, brother, Alan, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
