Valerie L. Johnson "Lindy" born in Omaha, NE to Darlene Shields and Frank Stearns, a graduate of Omaha Central High School, also attended the University of Nebraska Omaha. Valerie spent the majority of her working life with Mutual of Omaha, where she retired after 28 years.
Her passions were Nebraska Cornhusker Football and bowling, where she excelled for many years in Omaha leagues like the Ladies Traveling Classic and the Sunday Mixed League, which were among her favorites and where she made many lifelong friends. Her success in bowling was recognized by an induction in the Nebraska Bowlers Hall of Fame in 2002, where her achievements that included a perfect 300 game and her volunteer work with Jr. Bowlers and the Nebraska Special Olympics were highlighted.
Valerie also enjoyed spending time with family and valued time with grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Ronald Willis and sister Cynthia Huguley. She is survived by sisters Terri Keith of Omaha, NE and Charleszine Shields of Tucson, AZ, children's father Earl Johnson Jr. of Omaha, NE. Daughter Ronette (Shawn) Smith, sons Earl Johnson III, Jeffrey (Autumn) Johnson all of Omaha, NE. Grandchildren DyNesha of Omaha, NE, Nicole of Orlando, FL, Earl (Mannie) IV of Sunnyvale, CA, Erika and Erianna Johnson of Omaha, NE. Great grandchildren, Marley and Avery.
