Stanley was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Annette Gilbreta (Betty) Jones. Although he lived in California for a few years, Stanley remained extremely proud to have been born and raised in South Omaha. He would tell this to anyone who would listen to his stories about his days attending Indian Hills Elementary and Middle Schools and representing the South High School Packers.
Growing up as a young adult, Stanley worked as a butcher. He often bragged about being able to buy a whole pork loin or beef tenderloin and butcher his own chops and steaks. After completing training at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, Stanley became a part of the Anesthesia team at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, before transitioning to the Nebraska Methodist Hospital Anesthesia team where he found his home.
Stanley met his future wife, Lisa Taylor, on Valentine’s Day, and they would grow to spend just under four decades together. He loved family more than life itself. Stanley was excited for and supportive of anything his children and grandchildren ever attempted to participate in from dance to golf, football, theater, wrestling, bowling, swimming, track and of course gymnastics. He was most proud of raising kind, caring and wise young people and the fantastic human beings they have grown to be. Stanley always put his children first and would travel all over the country to have the privilege of sitting in the front row at all their events. Stanley loved to cook, barbeque, fish, and spend time talking and reminiscing with his beloved family and friends. He relished hosting cookouts and making holiday buffets grand affairs filled with food, fun and laughter. Family often raved about Stan’s fried fish often standing in line to get the fish straight out of the grease, his smoked brisket, barbeque ribs, his candied pork belly, fried turkey and just about any other item he chose to cook. It’s funny how the kids would always stop by at dinner time on the weekends.
Stanley died peacefully with God and his adoring family by his side. He believed in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and his Lord at an early age.
Stanley was preceded in death by his mother, grand-father, Gilbert Jones, his mother-in-love and dear friend, Lillian “Susie” Taylor, and brother Lionel Dozier. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Taylor-Jones, Sons: Chris, Al, Jared and Vashan (Winter). Daughters: Kiara, Jasmine (Russell), and Jourdyn.
