Veryl Ray Jefferson was born February 20, 1972 in Omaha , Nebraska.
Ray accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Allen Chapel AME. Ray received his formal education at Northwest High School and later worked in the logistics field before falling ill.
His love for music started in his teenage years where he produced music and mentored many musicians. Ray's love of music landed him in California for a short time, where he met some great musicians who mentored him. He was also a skilled DJ better known as the Wheels of Steel. He was one of the founding members of The Scribble Crew and Lyrical Madness. In these groups he formed lifelong brotherhood and friendships. Ray really had a love for cars, especially Chevy's. The Corvette Stingray was his favorite car of all time. His baby was his Denali he called Black Beauty. He also loved action packed movies.
Ray departed this life on Friday, November 25, 2022 surrounded by close family and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his birth father, Veryl Robinson and mother, Patricia Anne Jefferson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Alphonso Philmon of Omaha, Ne; two brothers Eric Jefferson (Kenyatta) of Omaha, Ne; Damian Marshall of Lincoln, Ne; Five sisters, Sharee Bryson (Jason) of Omaha, Ne; TaWonda Lee of Las Vegas, NV; TaVonna Jefferson; Alicia Williams; LaToya Williams all of Omaha, Ne.
Ray had no children of his own but he was very involved in raising several children into adulthood and was also the Godfather to lifelong friend Houston Alexander's children. Also he leaves to cherish Heather Mccallister-Potter of Omaha, Ne, who was the light of his life and held his hand to the very end. Heather's mother, Momma Dorothy Mccallister who also cared for and loved Ray. Ray had a host of nieces and nephews and a host great nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends.
